SEA BUCKTHORN OIL
(Hippophae Rhammoides)
One of the most well recognized properties of Sea Buckthorn is nourishing, revitalizing, and restorative action on the skin and mucous.
The oil is extracted from the berries and promotes healing of heat burns, radiation burns, sunburns, poorly healing wounds, eczema. A high content of fat soluble vitamins (A, E) and nutrients (EFAs, phytosterols) makes Sea Buckthorn an indispensable ingredient in restorative, anti-aging and revitalizing skin care. Sea Buckthorn oil effectively helps combat symptoms of malnourished or prematurely aging skin.
Sea Buckthorn oil has gained popularity in sun rich areas due to its radiation protective action. Natural antioxidants and highly bioavailable nutrients help reverse damaging effects, reduce skin inflammation. promote natural restorative processes, minimize long term effects of sun exposure like wrinkles, dryness, dark spots.
For all skin types
You'll find Sea Buckthorn Oil in many of my skincare products, including Make Up Remover, Soothing Aftershave, Eye Balm, Rose Hip Scar Treatment, Facial Oils, Avocado Skin Saver, and Herbal Complexion Oil.
Mud and/or Clay from the Dead Sea is rich in minerals and helps revitalize, exfoliate and purify the skin. It draws toxins, oils & debris from the skin, leaving a clean, fresh feeling. It helps to tighten pores and stimulate circulation so that your skin is left with a smooth healthy glow. The mud can also be used as a pack for sore joints. Use the mud as a hair pack to alleviate dandruff and oily hair conditions. It will not over-dry the scalp.
The Dead Sea Brine is the mineral rich water from the Dead Sea.
To use the mud or clay:
A Dead Sea Mud Mask can be made very simply with a little dead sea clay and enough water or hydrosol to make a thick paste. The best water would of course be the dead sea brine. You can also use the mud which is already wet. You can add 3 drops of essential oil to the mud to help cleanse the pores and kill bacteria that causes blemishes. Other wetting agents for the clay are fruit puree, yogurt, cucumber juice, milk, etc. Honey can be added to make the mask antibacterial and a bit more moisturizing for dry skin. If your skin tends to be dry in some spots, you may want to add some jojoba to the mud mask to help balance the skin. Other good additives are: Powdered Sea Vegetables, Powdered rice bran, colloidal oatmeal, nut meals, powdered herbs, etc. Dead Sea Clay Masks should not be premixed and stored, so only mix enough for your individual mask.
Of course, the Dead Sea Mud is ready to use as a facial mask and is shelf stable.

DIRECTIONS: Cleanse and tone your face. Apply Eye Cream or Eye Serum to the eye area. While your face is still slightly damp from your toner, apply just a few drops of Facial Oil to your face and neck. Also use a few drops in your weekly masque for extra benefit. Now you're beautiful the natural way!
Rich healing oils are blended with select Flutterbye Essential Oils to treat individual skin types. I've designed these gentle blends for specific complexion needs and have found them to be amazingly effective in the treatment of skin problems as well as being delightfully luxurious as a daily skin moisturizer. They balance, tone, hydrate and nurture as needed. I've been using these facial oils and making them for a group of customers and friends for many years, and I frankly just wouldn't use anything else on my face, day or night. It takes only 2 or 3 drops to moisturize your entire face and throat. The bottle of oils is small, but it will last a long time. I recommend you start with the 15 ml size. Refrigeration is NOT necessary for these products as they do not contain water.
I select specific carrier oils for each skin type. Each of the different formulas will be a little bit different since carrier oils have specific properties just as essential oils do. Your product will include several of these oils:
Macadamia Nut, Carrot Tissue, sea buckthorne oil, Apricot Kernel, Avocado, Sweet Almond, Olive, Borage, Coconut, Calendula, St. Johns Wort, Evening Primrose, Rose Hip Seed, Grapeseed, Hazelnut.
I won't list all of the essential oils in each product here, but if you have a particular dislike for a certain EO, please let me know so that I may substitute a more favorable EO for you. The list of EOs used in the different formulas include: Angelica, R. chamomile, carrot seed, lavender, palmarosa, cedarwood, rosewood, rose, neroli, ylang ylang, cypress, elemi, frankincense, geranium, patchouli, rosemary verbenon, clary sage, lemon, camphor, tea tree, juniper, petitgrain, grapefruit, lavendin.
Note: If you feel you have specific skin care needs that would not be addressed by my select formulas, let me know and I will try to work with you on designing your own individual formula; but hopefully you will be delighted after trying one of the products listed.
Please note that due to the fluctuation in the EO market, formulas may vary just a bit from time to time.

What clay minerals do:
- Supply essential minerals through the skin.
- Remove dead skin cells.
- Trap dirt and toxins.
Australia has some of the finest and purest clays in the world.
Australian clays clean and soften the skin and are gentle as they nourish your skin with essential minerals.
The clay first adsorbs toxins (heavy metals, free radicals, pesticides), attracting them to its surface area where they adhere to the clay; then it absorbs the toxins like a sponge.
How Australian clays work
Each clay works differently depending on its mineral composition and its ability to absorb moisture. The basic principal behind all the clays is called “Osmotic Pressure”.
This means that particles will move from an area of high density to an area of low density. Therefore, if a clay having high absorption properties is applied to oily skin, then as the clay dries the moisture from the skin will move into the clay, leaving the skin feeling softer and smoother. Conversely, with a clay that has a low absorption rate, moisture will travel from the clay into the skin, leaving the skin feeling fuller and firmer.
How to use Australian Clays
Complete directions and tips will be included with the clay. The clay is to be mixed with liquid, preferably your skin type hydrosol; if you don't have hydrosol, you may use filtered water, but not tap water due to the chemicals.
You will be amazed at how smooth and clean your skin feels after using clay. Be creative and blend more than one clay to suit your skin's special needs, or spot treat with clay as needed.
How often to use the clay masks:
- Sensitive, Dry or Mature skin: once a week.
- Normal, Combination, or Oily skin: twice a week.
- Blemished skin: Use daily for one week, then every other day for a week, then twice weekly until congestion & blemishes clear.
Always hydrate your skin after using a mask.
